These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Patchwork ("the Tool"), a proprietary location intelligence platform developed by and for The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) Western Territory. By accessing or using the Tool, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Patchwork, including its scoring methodology, neighborhood segmentation framework, Donor Lifecycle Stage system, visual design, and all associated software, is the intellectual property of The Salvation Army. © 2026 The Salvation Army. All rights reserved.
The proprietary elements of Patchwork — including but not limited to the Donor Potential Score, Store Viability Score, and the 13-segment neighborhood classification framework — may not be reproduced, distributed, reverse-engineered, or used outside of authorized Salvation Army operations without express written permission.
Patchwork is made available exclusively for internal use by authorized personnel of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers. Authorized use includes:

Patchwork incorporates data from third-party sources including the US Census Bureau, ESRI / Colliers SpendingByZip, Google APIs, Caltrans, and OpenStreetMap. These data sources are subject to their own terms of use and are used under applicable licenses. The Salvation Army makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data.
Patchwork is provided for informational and planning purposes only. Scores and segment classifications are derived from publicly available statistical data and represent aggregate patterns — they do not describe individual households or guarantee store performance outcomes. The Salvation Army makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or fitness for purpose of any analysis produced by the Tool.
Location decisions should be made using multiple inputs including on-the-ground assessment, operational considerations, and leadership judgment. Patchwork is one input, not a definitive recommendation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Salvation Army shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of or reliance on Patchwork or its outputs.
The Salvation Army reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the Tool following any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
